Responsibilities

The team is seeking engineers that enjoy solving problems, troubleshooting complex issues and have a strong background in networking technologies.

An ideal Network Engineer II designs, implements, automates and manages internet services while providing day-to-day support for the production networking systems.  This includes a broad range of solutions that address critical organizational needs, such as enterprise converged networks, Data Center management, IT security, VoIP, Cloud networking services & telecommunication backbone networks.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

 

Reviewing and actioning open issues or operational requests, prioritizing them based on business criticality and SLA levels while managing project-based work.

 

Collects, examines and analyzes network data for review with management and other operational peers.

 

A key responsibility is to leverage current software and open source solution to automate as many tasks as possible required to enable and manage the company's cloud and data center solutions.

 

Identify diagnose and resolve network problems.

During troubleshooting, he/she identifies and evaluates different options and chooses the right course of action to solve production problems.

 

Collaborate with stakeholders to improve network performance while designing ways to make sure the network is responsive to user demand by building automatic adjustment procedures.

 

Creates and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in similar position.
  • Expert level knowledge of the OSI network model, Ethernet, TCP/IP networking, m
  • Expert level knowledge of the following networking routing protocols BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN
  • A strong VMWare background
  • Advanced Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls
  • Advanced knowledge of F5 and Cisco Load Balancers
  • Advanced knowledge of automation frameworks such as Ansible & Puppet
  • Python development Experience
  • An advanced level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP bases services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTPS, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc..
  • Strong expertise at network documentation, IPAM, Visio
  • Knowledge of common network monitoring utilities
  • Participation in weekly on-call rotation
  • Experience in setting and maintaining security and configuration policies within the network for firewalls, routers and switches.
  • Understanding of MPLS deployment and management.

 

Hours & Work Schedule

 

Hours per Week:  40

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday
