Effective August 1, 2018, Franklin American Mortgage Company is owned and operated by Citizens Bank, N.A.  Therefore, the individual hired to fill this role will be an employee of Citizens Bank.


This position has responsibility for managing and directing the assigned loan officers to attain sales, service and CRA goals as well as personally generate residential mortgage loans that are in accordance with established standards, policies/procedures and regulations. In addition, the incumbent is accountable for the development of a marketing and business plan for the group and servicing as a CMC representative to the realtor community, Citizens Bank customers, homebuyers, homeowners and not for profit agencies.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensures that the group generates high quality, profitable residential mortgage loans consistent with CMC policies/procedures and standards as well as federal regulations/guidelines.
  • Responsible for sourcing and recruiting new Loan Officers to support the established sales goals for the group.
  • Ensures loan officers maintain an aggressive calling program with brokers, non-profits and potential homebuyers to attain sales goals and objectives.
  • Provides guidance and training to loan officers in relating customer needs to the service capabilities of the Bank; the appropriate selection, preparation; and execution of all documentation; banking laws/regs and financial analysis.
  • Develops and ensures the appropriate execution of all marketing/business plans for the group.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of products, guidelines, investor, constraints, pricing and timeframes.
  • Enhance branch referrals by developing relationships through branch visitation and on-going communication regarding product changes, market conditions and competition.
  • Ensure Loan Officers exhibit excellent customer service and maximize sales opportunities by cross selling Bank products and services.
  • Generate residential mortgage loans (personal production) to meet established goals; handle the most senior customer relationships and major transactions.
  • Effectively manage the assigned territory to meet sales goals; this will include Retail branch assignments, geographic territory alignments, commercial Loan Officer coverage and the communication of these assignments to the Loan Officers within this territory.
  • Exercise authority of a Manager concerning performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and termination.
  • Enhance community awareness of CMC products and the attainment of CRA goals through conducting sales presentations, homebuyer seminars and community outreach.
  • Contribute to enhancing the image of the Bank through active participation in professional, civic and community organizations.


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years residential mortgage experience with a proven record of sales achievements; 2+ years management experience preferred
  • Superior sales presentation and marketing skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of residential mortgage products and proven ability to maintain current with industry changes/modifications; knowledge of Bank products preferred
  • Expert knowledge of government and bank regulations/policies/procedures; 98%+ record of compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high level of customer service/satisfaction with both internal and external customers

Hours per Week:  40
