PMO Manager

 

Franklin American Mortgage is looking for an experienced, professional individual to join our technology team. The PMO Manager is part of the Project Management Office in our Texas location. The PMO Manager champions the PMO vision in our Texas location and serves as the onsite PMO escalation person at the location. The role will oversee the implementation of the PMO process within the team and our business stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drives the creation and adoption of project management methodologies in the team and with local business stakeholders. This includes identification/selection of processes and tools.
  • Manage business priorities across multiple lines of business ensuring the PMO team members are collaborating as needed to focus on delivery.
  • Initiate and collaborate on project feasibility analysis along with key technology teams/resources to assess risk, complexity, scope, and size of proposed projects, ensuring they are planning in an accelerated and affordable manner.
  • Drive key initiatives and execute deliverables for the Project Management Office. Ensure delivery of enterprise roadmap, managing change effectively, understanding the value of the projects and ensuring the appropriate level of transparency via KPI reporting and other communications.
  • Supervises department or work group staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of leadership responsibility within a technology driven environment. Financial Services or Mortgage Industry experience preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of management experience required, experience leading teams of 10+ individuals preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience. Must have experience with Agile transitions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing through organizational growth and change.
  • Fluent in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with total software development processes.
  • Agile hybrid delivery experience; experience extending or modifying methodologies.
  • Hands on experience with backlog management tools (JIRA preferred).
  • Pro-active in developing and implanting strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, verbal and listening) as well as the ability to influence key decision makers and understand their points of view.
  • Strong negotiation and execution skills with ability to drive results, deliver and excel, and own it when you don't.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert diligence in tracking and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of individuals and proactively manage and inspire individuals to work together as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to move quickly between strategic and tactical, understanding context, connecting seemingly unconnected ideas and taking action.
  • Ability to provide thought leadership, and to craft complex solutions based upon a holistic understanding of the business.
  • Ability to facilitate effective meetings and delegate responsibilities to others.
  • Ability to proactively identify, develop, and implement strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
  • Ability to create and regularly produce polished executive level reports and presentations for complex projects with limited supervision.
  • Up to 10% of travel is required.
  • Working on average one night a week required.
