Application Development Manager 

Franklin American Mortgage is looking for an experienced, professional individual to help lead our Application Development team. The Application Development Manager is responsible for leading an Application Development Team in the delivery of projects and enhancements to business-critical systems.


Leader of Application Development Team:

  • Manage direct reports and provide daily coaching.
  • Create Performance Goals and Training Strategies for direct reports.
  • Ensure Team is staffed appropriately to fulfill assigned deliverable goals and future activities.
  • Develop strategies to minimize key resource dependencies.

Leader and Supporter of the SDLC Process:

  • Address impediments that have been escalated by the Team.
  • Address any issues/risks that impact the business as the point of escalation. This could include resetting expectations around delivery as well as issues raised around requirements.
  • Support the SDLC process and Scrum Master on the day-to-day SDLC activities of the Team.

Leader in Resource Forecasting and Allocations:

  • Plan forecasting of resources.
  • Ensure the right resources are put on the right work.

Ensure adherence to departmental quality metric targets.  

Connect Application Development Team with broader IT and Business Strategies.

Work directly with Information Technology Leadership to meet organizational goals, improve processes and maintain Production SLA commitments.

Promote, instill and demonstrate FAMC's culture. 


  • 7+ years of IT Management Experience.
  • Experience working in Java/.Net development environments.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using Scrum methodologies preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated depth of leadership experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and partner with other IT leaders.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent area.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using Scrum methodologies preferred but not required.
  • Must possess excellent management and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and communicate decisions diplomatically.
  • High degree of leadership to motivate people and manage change.
  • Handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively and efficiently.
  • Prefer a fast-paced work environment.
  • Confidence and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and a variety of audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Professional dress and demeanor.
