 VP, Application Services 

Overview: Franklin American Mortgage is looking for an experienced, professional individual to lead our Application Development team. The Vice President Application Services provide strategic leadership and direction to create coherent, cohesive, agile, and enterprise-focused application technology solutions for Franklin American Mortgage Company's (FAMC). Oversees design, development, support and maintenance specifically for FAMCs proprietary Loan Origination System (LOS). The Vice President Application Services works closely with senior leadership and external third parties to develop and execute loan technology strategy.

This position is responsible for management and ongoing support of the legacy MyFAMC platform and implementation of target state. This includes supervision, training, and evaluation of application development teams, report development teams and quality assurance teams with analysis and recommendations to improve and expand applications, system integration and application performance.

Duties Include:

  • Coordinate process and timing of regular upgrades, applications of program fixes for existing programs and integrate with on-going and upcoming projects.
  • Directs selection, development and maintenance of business applications to serve FAMC
  • Provides senior oversight as part of the IT Services leadership team to effectively lead in the proactive and effective planning, delivery, and maintenance of corporate technology needs.
  • Work with project teams across the organization to develop and apply best practices and standards, including performing a more involved advisory role on complex initiatives.
  • Provides guidance, leadership and mentoring to direct and indirect reports. Supports and develops plans to meet resource demand and skill development to achieve long-term objectives.
  • Design teams and strategies to coordinate efforts of resources from IT, outside consultants, vendors, and other 'user groups in meeting FAMCs goals for loan origination systems.
  • Develop and implement resource allocation and tracking capabilities across functional teams.
  • Creates an environment which encourages people to think, communicate, take action, control work and make decisions autonomously to attain highest levels of service delivery.
  • Takes personal responsibility for making tough decisions, meeting commitments and ensuring expected results are achieved.
  • Lead large development and integration program to success. Organize team and align roles and responsibilities. Continually improve delivery processes and quality.
  • Communicates cross-divisionally and coordinates with user and technical groups regarding applications, developing application solutions, determining system requirements and modifications of systems.
  • Revise plans and process as needed to respond to unanticipated problems, and minimize negative consequences to priority needs.
  • Deliver application recommendations and solutions consistent with architectural standards.
  • Provides significant input into selection of and priorities for corporate methodologies, tools, and guidelines to improve efficiency7 and quality of development/maintenance processes.
  • Partners with division leadership and PMO to establish priorities and plans to ensure short and long-term needs are met.

  • Experience at a VP/Director level within Application Development, Software Engineering or similar area.
  • Developing and implementing cost effective solutions.
  • Broad knowledge of management theory and ability to manage technical personnel. Demonstrates sophisticated management skills in directing department activities.
  • Demonstrates the business and financial acumen necessary to develop and present data-based ideas and solutions in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with effectiveness resolving conflict to meet the business needs.
  • Effective delegation skills to maximize employee engagement and effectiveness.
  • Possesses ability to analyze problems and persuade users of acceptable solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
