Overview: Franklin American Mortgage is looking for an experienced, professional individual to join our Retail team. The Sales Manager is a Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator whose primarily focus is to generate leads through marketing and promotional strategies to attract new purchase business and originate loans. The Sales Manager will also recruit, train and coach Licensed Mortgage Loan Originators in their business area at the instruction of their Supervisor.  

 Duties Include:

  • Generate leads for the origination of loans through the development and retention of referral contacts (realtors, builders, clients, attorneys, etc.).
  • Collect documentation from applicants and deliver loan package to Customer Care Reps or Processors and manage the loan pipeline for all originated loans through closing and funding while maintaining high levels of customer service providing information to all those involved in the loan process.
  • The Sales Manager will also recruit, oversee, train, and coach Licensed Mortgage Loan Originators assigned to them.
  • Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting and general departmental guideline as well as Company's policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in all training meetings as required by management. Initiate and maintain education all legal and guideline changes.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.

What we need from you:

  • Be Licensable in the states where originate to include background and credit checks, state and national continuing education and testing.
  • Prior experience of at least 4-6+ years in Mortgage Lending required.
  • Prior supervisory experience of 2-4+ years is desired.
  • A history of strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Formal post-secondary education desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Utilize computer resources for communication and access of daily rates, applicant credit reports, loan information, and other job related activities.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Resourcefulness and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Detail orientation with strong organizational and follow-through skills to meet frequent deadlines.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver license.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • The desire and ability to build and grow strong interpersonal and business relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Occasional local travel.
