Retail Area Manager

Overview: Franklin American Mortgage is looking for an experienced, professional individual to join our Retail Sales team. The Area Manager would be responsible for recruiting and growing specific markets for Franklin American Mortgage Company's Retail Channel. This growth is facilitated by recruiting and hiring quality individuals and by coaching and leading existing Branch Managers, Sales Managers and Loan Officers to higher levels of loan production through greater efficiencies and productivity. In recruiting new associates to FAMC, the Area Manager will be responsible for proper due diligence to ensure each hire is representative of the professionalism consistent with FAMC's values. The Area Manager role would allow more of a concentration in certain critical markets in order to maximize our growth opportunities. The span of control for an Area Manager would include 4-7 branch offices in 1-2 states.

Duties Include:
• Develop and maintain current list of Branch Managere, Loan Officers and other referral contacts who represent the ideals, professionalism and work ethic consistent with FAMC's values. Consistently communicate with these candidates in an attempt to keep them informed on the benefits of joining FAMC.
• Oversee and Monitor the activities of assigned Branch Managers and LMLO's by initiating a system of accountability to ensure they meet performance expectations; coach and counsel as appropriate.
• Attend local industry events to further promote FAMC
• Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting and general departmental guidelines.
o Maintain knowledge of Company's policies and procedures.
o Attend and participate in all training meetings as required by management
o Initiate and maintain education of all legal and guideline changes and ensure assigned LMLO's meet this requirement as well.
• Partner with the Branch Manager in the management of the branch loan pipeline for all originated loans through closing and funding and communicate with Operations Management as to process and performance of assigned staff.

What we need from you:
• Be Licensable in states within assigned territory – to include background and credit checks, state and national continuing education and testing.
• At least seven (7) years' experience in Management within Retail lending.
• At least three (3) years' experience in a Branch Manager or equivalent is required.
• A history of demonstrated successful sales and negotiation skills.
• Formal post-secondary education desired.
• Due to territory travel, must be able to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Resourcefulness and excellent problem solving skills.
• Detail orientation with strong organizational and follow-through skills to meet frequent deadlines.
• Communicating with the public.
• Ability to dress and present self in a professional manner.
• Ability to supervise the work of others and provide training, direction and corrective feedback.
• Organizing and coordinating schedules.
• The desire and ability to build and grow strong interpersonal and business relationships.
• Ability to use logical, sound reasoning when making recommendations or decisions.
• Proactive and self-motivated demeanor.
• Must demonstrate commitment, dependability and respect for other employees with regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule.
• Ability to work under pressure.
